E-IPER offers two degrees: the PhD and the Masters of Science in Environment and Resources, the latter exclusively for students currently enrolled in the Stanford Law School (SLS), Graduate School of Business (GSB), or School of Medicine (SoM). E-IPER does not offer a stand-alone MS degree.

Both degrees are fundamentally interdisciplinary, giving students exposure to a variety of environmental and sustainability challenges and insight into new knowledge, technologies, and policies to help solve these problems.

E-IPER students are encouraged to take full advantage of Stanford's rich intellectual environment by engaging with business and government leaders, attending seminars and conferences, and publishing and presenting their work for a variety of audiences.
