E-IPER's PhD and Joint MS in Environment and Resources degree programs are both highly selective. While applicants have a variety of academic, professional, and personal backgrounds, the strongest candidates clearly demonstrate how they will integrate their prior academic and professional experiences with their E-IPER education and how an interdisciplinary graduate degree will advance their career goals.

Students applying for the PhD should visit Stanford's Graduate Admissions website.

If not already matriculated in or accepted for the MBA, JD, or MD, students applying for the Joint MS should first apply to the relevant professional school. Students may not apply for the Joint MS without concurrently applying to a professional school. E-IPER does not offer a stand-alone MS degree.

Note that the Joint MBA-MS takes two years plus 2-3 additional quarters to complete – it cannot be completed in just two years. The Joint JD-MS may be completed during the student’s three years in the Law School.
